What is RFID? Quoted from Wikipedia: Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. RFID tags are used in many industries, especially in the payment card industry.
How did the RFID protection card holder work?
Keep in mind that RFID stands for Radio-frequency identification, which is the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data. A person with the intent to steal your valuable information through an RFID scanner in close proximity to your valuable cards can only potentially scan cars of yours that have a magnetic strip, ie debit cards, credit cards, building access proximity cards and other similar such cards. While your Social Security Card is VERY valuable to you, the number cannot be read via an RFID scanner because it is simply a piece of paper with a number on it. So there is no need to protect it in an RFID sheath. However, I am aware that some do have magnetic strips.
The Holder does not block RF signals like those used in RFID. The RF signals are blocked by the metal (such as aluminum) using an electromagnetic device known as a Faraday Cage. The metal creates an area which is impervious to external RF waves, making it impossible to read the RFID cards. The pockets are merely there for organization purposes.
New Gift Package:
A very nice gift box replaces the previous carton box. This new gift package will protect the RFID Blocking Card Holder better. Best choice if you are looking for a gift.
This is perfect for me because I don’t carry any mone. It’s also slimmer than my previous card holder/wallet. It has the feature that blocks scans to your wallet which is certainly nice to have.
I like this card case very much. It holds just as many cards as my old one did and is considerably smaller. I slides in and out of my purse much more easily and it is good looking with good color. I am thinking of getting one to use specifically for medical insurance cards in a different color.
This card holder is amazing, it can hold most important credit cards and ID's and you can use one slot to carry a couple of bills so you can use it as a wallet, very nice design and quality.
A friend needed a new credit card wallet such as this--it was purchased as a gift. He loved it.
I like the Aluminum metal wallet -RFID. Holds about 5 or 6 credit cards. easy to close, easy to open, fit in your pocket without any bulging. Keeps the credit cards safe and secure.
