What is RFID? Quoted from Wikipedia: Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. RFID tags are used in many industries, especially in the payment card industry.
How did the RFID protection card holder work?
Keep in mind that RFID stands for Radio-frequency identification, which is the wireless use of electromagnetic fields to transfer data. A person with the intent to steal your valuable information through an RFID scanner in close proximity to your valuable cards can only potentially scan cars of yours that have a magnetic strip, ie debit cards, credit cards, building access proximity cards and other similar such cards. While your Social Security Card is VERY valuable to you, the number cannot be read via an RFID scanner because it is simply a piece of paper with a number on it. So there is no need to protect it in an RFID sheath. However, I am aware that some do have magnetic strips.
The Holder does not block RF signals like those used in RFID. The RF signals are blocked by the metal (such as aluminum) using an electromagnetic device known as a Faraday Cage. The metal creates an area which is impervious to external RF waves, making it impossible to read the RFID cards. The pockets are merely there for organization purposes.
New Gift Package:
A very nice gift box replaces the previous carton box. This new gift package will protect the RFID Blocking Card Holder better. Best choice if you are looking for a gift.
Broke 2nd week after receiving it. Very flimsy
So far, no complaints! I was able to get all my credit cards & personal information cards, like my license and insurance cards, into the holder with ease. It fits into my purse very easily, and it is just getting use to pulling my cards from a new device. I like the compactedness overall, as it takes up very little room with giving a little more security when out and about, especially while traveling.
It is very nice and compact and durable. But, it only holds exactly 6 credit cards and will not close if you try to add more. It fits in my front pocket well and keeps my credit cards well protected and doesn’t let them get bent or damaged like a soft leather rear wallet would.
This card case is very functional and easy to use PLUS it is a nice color that I can easily identify inside my purse. It holds all my cards and protects them. Looks great and fits everywhere
I bought this as a gift for my son. He loves it. Says it is really convenient. He really likes the sleek look.
This stainless steel card holder can hold 6+ cards. This is perfect for everywhere we have to go, it's strong and reliable.
